The ARIUS YDP-145 offers the sound of a precisely sampled Yamaha flagship 9' CFX concert grand piano, which is sonically characterized by sparkling highs and a powerful resonant bass.
Additional instrument sounds (10 total) include electric pianos, organs, harpsichord, and strings.
The Layer mode allows two different instruments such as an acoustic piano and a string ensemble to be played together for a more complex sound that inspires even greater musical creativity. Choose from four types of reverb to sweeten your sound.
With 192-note polyphony, the piano handles complex performances without cutting off notes.

GHS Keybed: Realistic Touch for Proper Finger Technique

The company's GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) weighted-action keybed reproduces the touch and feel of an acoustic piano, from a naturally heavy feel in the lower key to a lighter touch in the upper octaves—just like the hammers inside an acoustic piano.
The 88 keys feature matte black keytops to prevent slippage caused by perspiration.

16W of Natural Sound with Tone Escapement Construction

In addition to the built-in 16W stereo speaker system, the YDP-145 uses tone-escapement construction on the back of the cabinet that emanates sound from inside the piano. This allows you to experience natural sound radiation and three-dimensional resonance like that of an acoustic piano.
A Volume Limiter function lets you set a fixed maximum volume level, to protect your hearing from loud sound over the speakers or headphones.

Comfortable Headphone Monitoring with Stereophonic Optimizer

The YDP-145 employs technology that enhances the sound balance based on your monitoring level in the headphones. This gives you an exceptionally natural sound that's easy to listen to and gentle on the ears, great for extended playing.
When wearing headphones, the Stereophonic Optimizer effect lets you enjoy the natural, spacious sound you would experience sitting in front of an acoustic grand piano.

Duo Mode for Playing Along with a Partner

The convenient Duo mode allows the piano's keyboard to be split in the center, making it possible for a teacher to play on the left side while the student follows along on the right.
Alternatively, one person can play the left-hand part on the left, while another plays the right-hand part on the right. This is especially useful when learning with a partner, letting you learn and practice parts together.
The instrument is equipped with two headphone jacks for quiet performance or practice with two players.
