Features of Yamaha TRB1004J CMB
This is the 4-string version of the legendary TRB series. This versatile series was born during the '80s, parallel to the rise of synthesizers. The series has been designed to cover a greater tonal range, both in the low and high frequencies, which is why there are also 5 and 6 string versions, for the most advanced musicians.
5-Piece Maple/Mahogany Neck
Super long scale (35 inches).
3-band active EQ.
Color Caramel Brown
The TRB was born as a versatile 6-string bass at the same time that synthesizers were gaining more and more popularity in music in the late 80s. The TRB bass was developed to cover the 6th string (low B) low tonal range that could not be achieved with a classic 4-string bass, while with the 1st string (high C) advanced bassists had more possibilities to improvise and express themselves. Likewise, a longer scale (35 inches) was incorporated to increase the tonal clarity in the lowest notes and improve the sensation of tension in the strings, mainly in the 6th. The TRB's low-noise pickups and active 3-band circuitry produce a clear, well-balanced sound, and provide access to a very wide tonal range. The result of Yamaha's innumerable efforts at innovation, the TRB series has accompanied many professional musicians since its debut in 1989, becoming an icon of 5- and 6-string basses throughout the world.
Maple top body
The alder body is laminated with a figured maple top. A bolt-on neck is used to ensure a secure neck-to-body connection and a clear, powerful sound.
solid bridge
The brass bridge transmits the vibration of the strings to the body with great efficiency.
5-piece neck
The 5-piece neck is designed with a super-long 35-inch (889mm) scale and 24 frets. The TRB1006J's neck features two truss rods to sufficiently counteract the tension that is created on a six-string bass.
Hum-cancelling alnico V pickups
Hum-canceling alnico V pickups produce a clear sound, extend the tonal range, and provide rich low end and plenty of presence.
Active circuit of 5 controls
The 5-control active circuit allows access to a wide variety of tonal possibilities. From subtle variations in timbral nuances to dynamizing the sound, anything is possible.
