The built-in speaker is on by default, but when you connect headphones (available separately), players are immersed in their music without disturbing anyone else in the home. Parents can set the volume limit for the maximum loudness of the headphones to protect their children's ears.
Compact and lightweight, the Remie is easy for the young maestro to take out and put away on his or her own. It runs on four AA batteries, making it easy to take on road trips, family visits, or anywhere it's fun to make music. When batteries aren't available, the included USB cable lets you connect to a computer for power or into an AC outlet with a separately available USB portable charger.
